Timing Belts
In a car, the timing belt alongside the timing belt tensioner is used to maintain precision and is crucial to the proper working of the engine. It's responsible for coordinating the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft to ensure that pistons and valves in the engine move in-sync. The timing belt wears down over time and therefore needs to be replaced periodically. Check your car's service schedule online or read the owner's manual for information about the lifespan of this critical component. Usually, timing belts should be replaced after 60,000 to 100,000 miles depending on your car's engine configuration since the timing belt is specific to your vehicle. Check your timing belt cover as well for wear and tear. Have you heard odd noises coming from the inside of your engine? Your timing belt may be faulty. Other symptoms of wear and tear include a flashing “check engine” light and a misfiring engine. If you have trouble starting the engine of your Ford, or if it starts hard, it’s time to call your mechanic. Check the manual of your vehicle for service intervals. If you do not replace a faulty timing belt, this could cause you to be stranded on the roadside when your Ford’s engine fails. Further, you could end up spending thousands of dollars repairing the engine. Fortunately, our original factory timing belts are here to ensure your car serves you longer.
